Day One - August 19th

Day Two - August 20th
Today's Objectives:
- Students will learn how to use Socrative as our class "starter"
- Students will learn about the Nature of Science and how it works
- Students will be introduced to ResearchQuest
- Answer Socrative Questions (Note: Socrative quizzes will only be completed in the first 5 minutes of class; there are no make-up quizzes permitted)
- Watch video on Nature of Science
- Understanding the Nature of Science activity - case studies looking at what processes scientists have used to make discoveries
- Introduction to ResearchQuest
- Quick overview of Lab Safety Contract
- Lab Safety Contract Goes Home For Parent/Student Review and Signatures - DUE ON FRIDAY, August 23rd
- Socrative (in-class quiz)
- Understanding the Nature of Science (team in-class activity)
Day Three - August 21st
Today's Objectives:
- Students will complete Socrative quiz as our class "starter"
- Students will be work on ResearchQuest
- Answer Socrative Questions (Note: Socrative quizzes will only be completed in the first 5 minutes of class; there are no make-up quizzes permitted)
- Students, are introduced to Google Extension, Dualless; Review how to use Google Docs
- Students work individually, in pairs, and small groups toward completing ResearchQuest's "What Dinosaur Did These Bones Come From?" Sections 1 -3
- Students turn in completed Lab Safety Contracts to Mrs. Smith
- Lab Safety Contract Goes Home For Parent/Student Review and Signatures - DUE ON FRIDAY, August 23rd
- Socrative (in-class quiz)
- Work on ResearchQuest's "What Dinosaur Did These Bones Come From?"
Day Four - August 22nd
Today's Objectives:
- Students will complete Socrative quiz as our class "starter"
- Students will be work on ResearchQuest
- Answer Socrative Questions (Note: Socrative quizzes will only be completed in the first 5 minutes of class; there are no make-up quizzes permitted)
- Students, review how to use Google Extension, Dualless and Google Docs
- Students work individually, in pairs, and small groups toward completing ResearchQuest's "What Dinosaur Did These Bones Come From?" Group 1 = Sections 4-7; Group 2 = Sections 8-11; Group 3 = Sections 12-15; Everyone = Sections 16-18

- Students turn in completed Lab Safety Contracts to Mrs. Smith

- Students will complete Bubbles Lab
- Students turn in completed Lab Safety Contracts to Mrs. Smith
- Students review team roles, responsibilities, and norms
- Students will complete Bubbles Lab individually and as a team
- Students will identify the Nature of Science Processes used to complete the lab
- EXTENSION: Students create a video or written blog post on what they learned this week in science
